Supporta's commitment to better lives and better living spaces.

Supporta Care has won a 3 year Extra Care Housing contract in Bristol continuing the Supporta plc commitment to transform lives and living spaces.

Supporta is one of the UK's leading providers for specialist services which allow people to exercise choice, in the places that they live and the services they receive.

The ageing UK population creates an ever-increasing demand on services and infrastructure. With the average life expectancy in the UK now being 79, it is understandable that more older people desire to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. This means the UK must find new ways to provide the necessary care and support to our older people, while also affording them the dignity and quality of life they deserve.

An excellent example of this is at an Extra Care Housing scheme at Lawrence Weston in Bristol where from July 2007 Supporta Care will provide 500 hours of Care per week for residents with visual and/ or hearing impairment.

An Extra Care Housing Scheme has a number of units with additional facilities to support residents and assist with creation of a real community. Lawrence Weston has 55-room occupancy, 39 single rooms and 16 double rooms, and will have communal areas including a shop, lounge and restaurant, which can also be used by visitors. The scheme ensures the safety of residents but also encourages visits from their family and friends to further foster the community feel.
