Acquisition of Supporta Payroll Services by McKesson Information Solutions Ltd.

Supporta Payroll Services was acquired by McKesson Information Solutions Ltd. on 4 May 2007.

Supporta Group Chief Executive, John Jasper commented: 'This disposal follows a detailed review of Supporta's range of services and markets, and reflects our commitment to focus upon the development and growth of those parts of our business that are aligned to the Group's core objectives in Professional Services and the extremely buoyant Care market within which we are already a key player.

'This is a very positive transaction for Supporta shareholders, and represents a significant product and services development opportunity for McKesson in the NHS market in which it is already successfully active.'

The deal is also an extremely positive initiative for all staff employed within the payroll business who are protected in the transfer to McKesson under TUPE legislation, and who will benefit as the business develops against the significant advantages which McKesson has in the market.

McKesson Corporation is one of the world's largest healthcare services and technology companies. In the UK McKesson is responsible for the implementation of the ESR system (the new NHS national HR and payroll system) throughout the NHS in England and Wales. Supporta's payroll business is the largest single user of the system in providing managed HR and payroll services to the NHS.
